That thought has been pressing into my mind for the past four years. I am more convinced than ever that this simple concept lies at the heart of what God is doing among His people and what He is willing to do in America.
 
A God-assignment certainly has to do with finding and following God's will. But, it is a much more specific concept than the broad terms usually associated with following God's plan.

There are wars and rumors of wars.  The high court considers further unraveling of the God-honoring fabric that has been a great nation.  Honoring the name of God in public is ruled illegal.

That was ancient Israel under Roman occupation.  Is is modern America in current circumstance.

Its a way of thinking about spirituality in old Celtic culture. From time to time one encounters a place that, due to its loveliness or quietness or simple majesty, seems to somehow be closer to God...less distance between the things of the world and the presence of God...a thin place.

And, I needed one.

I fully appreciate speed limits. After all, an automobile, a commonly used machine, can be extremely dangerous in the hands of an irresponsible driver. Similarly, I fully appreciate the need for reasonable parameters guiding firearm use and safety. Again, commonly used machines that are extremely dangerous in the hands of an irresponsible user.
 
The problem is that neither speed limits for automobiles nor parameters guiding firearm use and safety will stop violent and irresponsible use of those machines by people.
